American Staffordshire: "Huff in the Tulips" (10x13") -Huff as a little puppy was charming. His ears were so big they looked like wings. His skin was stretched like pink and white spandex over his enormous muscles and knobby knees. The tulips were taller than he was!
Boston Terrier, Jerry's New Red Rainicoat (12x16")

The beautiful Margaret found Jerry in a pet store in New Orleans. He finished college with her and was “Best Dog” at her wedding. He enjoys dual citizenship between Southampton, Long Island and the Cayman Islands.
Fergi In the Fall (24x24")
I didn’t realize that bassets have their own “hunts.” They are actually quite speedy. Their humans run on foot not horses. I can’t imagine anything more wonderful than a large field of galloping bassets with their ears flapping in the wind.

French Stelle: "Kate and Nyles Through the Hedges" (25x34")

Nyles and Kate are working toward the 2012 Olympics in Eventing.
Nilly, The Watch Dog: (17x24")
Nilly is a rescued beagle found with a litter malnourished pups. She went to live with Kris, my website designer. Her self-image was not good. She was very timid. Kris bought her a jeweled collar. We thought maybe having a portrait done would increase her self-esteem.
French Stelle: "Kate and Nyles Over the Barrels" (22x32")
Nyles and Kate are working toward the 2012 Olympics in Eventing.
Cavalier King Charles Spaniel: Alear. (18x17")
In this painting Alvear is only five months old. The peonies have a lovely smell, luscious and intoxicating, even to little dogs.
Anne's Team (17x22")
I was so pleased to do this for Anne. She was grieving for “Montana” the wonderful looking dog in the middle. This was a photo that she took the last time they were all together. It is magical to get three dogs to do this
Cocker Spaniel: Clancy (16x19")

Clancy was the much-loved Cocker Spaniel of a wonderful family in Lincolnshire.
Friends Together: Calico Cat and Shih Tzu (13x10")

I don't know how that dog and cat thing got started. When animals share a loving home, they love each other. Abbi and Ami are like two peas in a pod.
Shih Tzu: "Frosty in th Snow" (27x20")

Frosty was well-named because at every opportunity he would roll in the snow and pack himself down with “ice packs.” He is going to be my “Valentine Dog” because even the coldest exterior can have the warmest heart!

Lhasas and Shi Tzu (24x18")
Rosie,Zoey and Ollie are the friendliest, nicest dogs! When you come into their beautiful modern house, Zoey gives you a big smile with her upper and lower teeth,Rosie runs to get you a toy and Ollie sits on your foot. These guys were so much fun to paint.
Goldern Labrador Retriever: "Rizzo" (12x16")
Golden Lab and Corgis "Thanksgiving Visitors" (11x18") When families gather, it is always nice to bring the dogs, but then the dining room gets very crowded and dogs must wait outside. Still, they’re glad to be included. This was a commissioned piece for a holiday card.
Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen: Sadie. (17x16")
This is such a long name for not that big a dog! Sadie is a sweetie! We put her in with some wild roses to match her shaggy coat, but she is a homebody entirely. I was so glad to meet her.
European Mix "Willie" (6x9")

Willie is a cousin to Lulu. He is a mixed breed living in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Julie has a great love of animals.  A few of her early experiments painting family pets were very well received and  people began to commission her to paint their favorites.  We have placed a number of her works on this page for you to see that a "great photo shot," not necessarily a great photo, of your pet can become a family keepsake.  Please feel free to enjoy these images and if you would like information about having Julie paint your pet or you would like to commission a work for a friend or relative, click on the request form below and Julie will get back to you to discuss, the setting, size, and price.
The two best friends live in New York City in a high rise apartment overlooking Central Park. Today they are out for a stroll.
